Training of FIDA paralegals from the Ashanti and North East Regions on access to justice for Adolescent girls with support from UNFPA
Access to Justice for Adolescents Capacity-Building training for the Second Batch of Trained Paralegals from the Ashanti and North East Regions of Ghana, on Access to Justice for Adolescents.
The training was organized with support from UNFPA, was an engaging and practical session focused on strengthening participants’ knowledge and understanding of adolescents’ rights and their access to justice.
The training provided a platform to explore some of the key challenges adolescents face in accessing justice, including limited awareness of their rights, barriers to reporting, access to legal representation, child protection concerns, gender-based violence, sexual and reproductive health and rights, and access to appropriate referral and support services.
participants were further equipped with the knowledge and skills to provide safe, child-friendly, confidential and appropriate support to adolescents who may require assistance in navigating justice and protection systems.
Through these continued capacity-building efforts, FIDA-Ghana is strengthening a network of trained paralegals who can serve as important first points of support for adolescents and help connect them to appropriate legal, protection and referral services.
Together, we continue to work towards a justice system where every adolescent knows their rights, can speak up safely, and has access to the support, protection and justice they need.
